Facebook’s biggest game developer Zynga has been hit with a class action lawsuit a federal court in San Francisco after it was accused of sharing personal details of millions of Americans with internet tracking companies.

The company, which is most famous for producing Farmville for the social networking site, has been accused of sharing the information of 218 million people in the USA with advertisers, which violates not only their contract with Facebook but also Federal Law. The action is hoping to win financial compensation for the victims and injunctive relief which would seek to stop future piracy abuse

‘This appears to be another example of an online company failing the American public with empty promises to respect individual privacy rights,’ said Michael Aschenbrener of Edelson McGuire LLC, co-lead attorney for the class action.
