Ah, the iPad. When you were first announced, you seemed so not a big deal. 'It's an overgrown iPod touch,' we sneered.
Then Apple sold one of the darn things every 2.3 seconds, and people started to take notice.
Now, the world and his wife are battling to compete. The latest - and so far, cheapest - offering is the Cruz Reader. Made by Velocity Micro (whoever they are), the $200 tablet comes with a 7-inch screen and a SD card reader to store your music, films and documents. For another $100, you can upgrade to the Cruz tablet, which has double the memory and a better touchscreen.
What do you think? Is a budget Android tablet the way to go? Or are you saving your pennies for the full iPad experience?
