The game industry’s worst-kept secret – the much-anticipated sequel to Assassin’s Creed 2 – has finally been confirmed, along with the rumoured titled of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and an extremely vague release date of ‘late 2010’. That’ll be the Christmas present from the missus then, right chaps?
The game will be the first in the series to offer online multiplayer (which is being designed by those responsible for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory’s multiplayer – no bad thing) and will, as predicted, feature your man Ezio Auditore as a legendary Master Assassin commanding an entire Brotherhood of Assassins in his assault on Rome. In the online multiplayer you can also take control of the Templars (boo, hiss) and fight against Ezio’s (hooray!) men.
‘Players can choose from a wide range of unique characters,’ said Ubisoft in a rather bland statement, ‘each with their own signature weapons and assassination techniques, and match their skills against other players from all over the world in different game modes.’
