British Airways to introduce inflight texting service

British Airways transatlantic passengers will soon be able to send text messages mid-flight according to a statement by the aviation company today. But the service will be limited to business class while those in the cheap seats will have to spend a few hours with their beloved mobiles switched off.

Overworked executives will be able to connect to a GSM service on British Airway planes with speculation that the introduction of voice calls isn't off. The service will be provided by the company OnAir.

There is no data available on how much the texting service will cost or if it will be included in the price of a business class ticket. One thing is for sure, it won't be cheap.
