Barclays looks for best student YouTube spoof

Barclays Bank is offering free cinema tickets for a year to the maker of the best “short, home-made version of a famous film” posted on YouTube. The bank has set up a YouTube group for the competition – and even if you don’t fancy yourself as a filmmaker, it’s worth checking out the examples and entries so far. “The 20-Year-Old Virgin” delivers guaranteed sharp intakes of breath and wincing, while “Fast Food Beauty”’s combination of burgers, chips and nudity is proving inexplicably popular too.

The competition is open to anyone opening a Barclays student account before 26 October, but the closing date is tomorrow – Friday 5 October – so if you want to enter you need to look smart. Quiet on set please…
