Back To The Future Hoax!

Did you notice anything special about yesterday, the 5th of July? No? The 5th of July 2010? Still no? Well that would because you are not gullible.

Total Film magazine had millions of nerds in a frenzy after they dubbed yesterday ‘Future Day’ – the day that Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown travel into the future in Back To The Future part 2. The only problem was that they were five years too early - they time travelled to the 5th of July 2015, not 2010.

The hoax started yesterday morning when the film mag posted this Tweet to their 30,000+ followers...’Great Scott! It’s Future Day! In Back To The Future, Doc Brown sets the time circuits for 25yrs in the future..that day is today! #futureday’. They then followed up with a photoshopped Twitpic of the time circuits with yesterday’s date which spurned a gazillion ReTweets. ‘Futureday’ was then the most googled thing on the planet for 24 hours as well as being the topic of conversation on various radio and TV shows everywhere.

Total Film have since put their hands up and apologised....for people’s stupidity.
