Yesterday we informed you lovely people that Ubisoft had announced that it was releasing a new Assassin’s Creed episode within the next fiscal year, which we speculated couldn’t possibly an out-and-out sequel what with it being so soon after the release of AC2 (November). Well it turns out we were wrong: Ubisoft is making a full-blown sequel, created by the same studios that made the latest (truly fantastic, by the way) edition.
Best of all we’re not getting a brand new story, but a follow up to Ezio’s jumping, climbing and killing-based shenanigans, which will be sold at a ‘full price point’. So it’s not downloadable content, ok?
‘We have a new Assassin's Creed that we expect will be a very high quality product that as well as an offline component will have a multiplayer component,’ said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. ‘It is the same studios because it's not only one studio creating the game, but an association of studios and they are working together to make it happen.
‘The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2.’ Woo, and indeed, hoo.
