Analogue TV fades away in Cumbria

Whitehaven in Cumbria will tomorrow become the first place in the UK to lose its analogue TV signal.

In the early hours of Wednesday morning, the analogue BBC2 signal will be switched off (hopefully with a big red switch) and only people who own a digital tuner will be able to receive the channel. The other terrestrial channels will follow on 14 November.

So get ready to say goodbye to fuzzy, grainy pictures – and hello to jumpy, blocky ones. For more on this story, press your red button now…
