Check out our Acer Extensa 5635 laptops review

With the laptop market becoming more and more crowded with each passing day, it has never been more important than now to keep up to date with all the latest news, developments and products if you want to have any chance of finding the right machine for you when it's time to make your next purchase.

Acer have been making quite a name for themselves in the portable computing market in the last decade or so thanks to a string of top notch, reliable laptops and netbooks built with ease of use in mind.

The wonderful Acer Extensa 5635 range of laptops continues with this tradition, while also managing to offer some serious power to back it all up. The Extensa is powered by the Intel Pentium T4300 dual core processor running at 2.1GHz, and although this chip has recently started to be overshadowed by some of the more powerful quad core processors on the market, it should still be more than capable of performing to the standard you require from your laptop.

The machines comes with 2GB DDR3 SDRAM installed as standard in two 1GB cards, but this is upgradable to 4GB in two 2GB cards should you decide that you need to milk a little extra performance from the system. For storage, it features a 250GB SATA 150 drive which should be more than enough for most users, although those of you who deal with large files may have to invest in a high capacity flash drive or external hard drive to accommodate your work.

The screen is a 15.6 inch TFT with a maximum 24 bit resolution of 1366 x 768 WXGA which offers up to 16.7 million colours. The screen lighting is up to the usual high Acer standards, and means that reflections shouldn't pose too much of a problem for those of you who like to use your systems outdoors.

Rounding the package off is the integrated camera, Bluetooth, integrated optical drive and Intel GMA 4500M graphics card, making this an excellent all round machine for users of all experience levels.
