A breach of copyright?

Samsung have been doing great business since they launched their Galaxy series of smartphones, making them – along with HTC – the kings of the Android market. In fact it would probably be safe to say that should you wish to stay away from Apple products, the Samsung Galaxy S is probably the daddy, especially the latest iteration.

However, Apple want to put a stop to all that, and have reportedly sued Samsung for copying ‘the look and feel’ of the iPhone 3GS and iPad in the making of the Galaxy S 4G. This is serious news; Samsung sold more than 10,000,000 Galaxy S smartphones in 2010, and this litigation could jeopardise the sale of their latest model.

‘Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products,’ read their claim. It appears that Apple want a protected monopoly based on litigation. What a world, eh?
