A review of the 13 –inch MacBook Air

The 13-inch Macbook Air seems to be a full-grown laptop. The incredible aluminium unibody construction, rounded corners and magnetic latch make this notebook futuristic, chic and practical at the same time. It measures 0.11 inches to 0.68 inches and the weight is only 3 pounds, making it one of the lightest laptops available on the market.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The 13-inch MacBook Air has a useful backlit keyboard. Both the areas around the keys and the letters are bright, but you can choose to customise the intensity using the F5 key. Furthermore, the tactile feedback is responsive, taking into account the sylphlike profile of the laptop. The glass touchpad measuring 4.1 x 3-inch has no rival. You can easily execute pinch-to-zoom gesture and two-finger scrolling.

Audio and display

The resolution of the MacBook Air 13-inch model is better than that of the 11-inch model (1440 x 900 versus 1366 x 768). Thus, you can see better maps from Google Earth or just a personal document. The speakers are located under the keyboard on the 13-inch Air and this is surprisingly good for such a futuristic design. Even though the sound is not so powerful, the quality is excellent and it advisable to keep the volume at about 80 percent.

Configuration options

Apple equipped the 13-inch MacBook Air with the new system called Mac OS X Lion. The MacBook Air can be customised with up to 128GB of flash storage, a 1.7-GHz ULV Core i5 processor and 4GB of RAM.

Battery life

MacBook Air comes with a 50-watt-hour battery, which last up to seven hours of web surfing.

The unique design and the cutting edge technologies inside the MacBook Air make this notebook one of the best choices on the market today. It is perfect for those who travel a lot, for companies that are working with design and for those who are studying. The 13-inch MacBook Air is one of the few notebooks that have earned many five star rating by specialists.
