Choosing a tablet is a tricky business. Do you go for an iPad, with an enormous choice of apps but poor multi-tasking capabilities? Do you go for an Android tablet, with fewer apps but better multi-tasking? Or do you go for Windows 7, which gives you the vastest range of apps of all, and great multitasking, but which isn't really properly adapted for tablets?

Well, maybe you don't have to choose. Maybe there's a way to have the best of both worlds - tablet OS convenience with the power of Windows? ViewSonic reckon there is. They're introducing a tablet which runs both Windows 7 and Android.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 10 Pro, as it's catchily dubbed, is basically a Windows 7 tablet. But it has a special version of Android on it which can run in Windows as a full-screen app, and run other Android apps within itself.

Sadly, it runs Android 2.3 rather than 'Honeycomb' 3.2, which means we're not sure how well the Android mode will really work. But it does mean there'll be a very wide range of apps.

Interested? Like most Windows 7 tablets, the ViewPad 10 Pro isn't cheap - it starts at $599, which will probably translate to at least £450 when it's released later in the year.
